Georg Olms Verlag is a long-established academic publishing house specializing in the humanities and cultural studies. Since 1958, it has published a wide range of topics, including classical studies, philosophy, German studies, Romance studies, art and music history, as well as linguistics and literary studies. The program includes monographs, edited volumes, postdoctoral and doctoral dissertations, critical editions, and reprints of significant scholarly works. BdWi-Verlag was founded in 1993 and serves as the academic publishing house of the Bund demokratischer Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler (Association of Democratic Scientists, BdWi). Its publishing program includes scholarly and critical works addressing issues related to science, university development, and education policy. The focus lies on the critical reflection of academic institutions, research and teaching practices, and the role of science within society.
